These Terms of Service apply to orders placed with 13 Sourdough ("we", "us") through this website. By placing an order you agree to these terms and to our Refund policy, Pickup & delivery policy and Privacy policy.

1. Home bakery disclosure

13 Sourdough is a home-based bakery in Falls Church, Virginia, operating under Virginia's home food processing exemption (Code of Virginia § 3.2-5130). Our products are made in a private home kitchen that is not inspected by the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Each package is labeled "NOT FOR RESALE — PROCESSED AND PREPARED WITHOUT STATE INSPECTION."

2. Who can buy

We sell only to individuals in Virginia, for their own personal consumption. Our products may not be resold, sold on consignment, or served in a restaurant or other food business. We pick up and deliver within Virginia only.

3. Allergens and food safety

Our kitchen handles wheat, milk, eggs, tree nuts (including pecans, hazelnuts and macadamia nuts) and sesame. Any product may come into contact with these allergens, even if they are not ingredients. Ingredients and allergens are listed on each package label. If you have a food allergy or sensitivity, please email us before ordering; we cannot guarantee any product is free of a specific allergen. Enjoy our products promptly and follow any storage guidance on the label.

4. Orders and availability

  • Your order confirmation is not a guarantee of availability. We bake in small batches and quantities are limited each week.
  • We may refuse or cancel an order, for example if an item cannot be baked, a price or description was listed in error, or we suspect resale or fraud. If we cancel, you receive a full refund.
  • Product photos are representative; handmade items vary in size, shape and appearance.

5. Prices, taxes and payment

  • Prices are in US dollars. Virginia sales tax is added at checkout; the final amount is shown in your order confirmation.
  • Card, Shop Pay, PayPal and Venmo payments made online are charged when you place your order.
  • "Pay in person" orders are due in full at pickup or delivery (cash, Venmo or Zelle). Unpaid orders that are not collected may be cancelled.

6. Pickup and delivery

Schedules, the delivery area and fees are described in our Pickup & delivery policy. Responsibility for your order passes to you when it is handed over at pickup or left at your delivery address.

8. Website content

Text, photos and designs on this website belong to 13 Sourdough and may not be copied or used commercially without our permission.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot be limited under Virginia law.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of Fairfax County, Virginia.

11. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted when you place an order applies to that order.
